Terms of Use
1. Scope
These terms of use apply to the use of “Medic Translate” (medic-translate.org, hereinafter “App”). The App is free of charge and requires no registration.
2. Purpose of the App
The App is a communication aid for medical professionals, mainly in emergency medical services and emergency departments, to communicate with patients who do not speak German. It provides pre-translated standard questions and announcements with audio.
The App does not make diagnoses or give treatment recommendations. It replaces neither a medical assessment nor a qualified interpreter. Medical responsibility always remains with the treating staff.
3. Translations and Availability
Translations and audio are prepared carefully but may contain errors. If in doubt, verify the patient's answers by other means. You can report errors via “Report translation”.
There is no entitlement to any particular availability or functionality. The App may be changed or discontinued at any time.
4. Liability
As the App is provided free of charge, I am only liable for intent and gross negligence. This does not affect liability for injury to life, body or health, for fraudulently concealed defects, or under the German Product Liability Act.
5. Copyright
The content of the App (texts, translations, audio, design) is protected by copyright. You may use the App freely for its purpose; reproducing or using the content outside the App requires my consent.
6. Changes
I may change these terms of use with effect for the future. The current version is always available in the App.
7. Applicable Law
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you, as a consumer, have your habitual residence remain unaffected.
