How to use Medic Translate on a call
Five steps from first contact to handover. No account needed, and after the first load the app also works without a connection.
-
Choose the language
Tap the patient's language or search for it. Recently used languages appear right above the list.
-
Choose a topic
Use the SAMPLER sections for the basic history, or a condition such as heart attack or stroke when you suspect one. Time-critical topics are marked red.
-
Show the question and play it
The question appears in large type in the patient's language and is read out automatically. Tap play to repeat it. Move between questions with “Previous”/“Next” or by swiping.
-
Let the patient tap an answer
The patient answers yes or no in their language, points to a body area or picks a value on the pain scale. For open questions you note the answer yourself.
-
Hand over the protocol
Every answer is added to the protocol with the time, sorted by SAMPLER. At handover you copy or print it, then delete it from the device.
Good to know
- Offline use
- Install the app and save the audio of your most-used languages (about 1.5 MB each). Everything then works without a signal.
- Text size
- The “Tт” button on the question screen enlarges the translation in four steps.
- Light and dark
- The app follows your device setting. You can fix the appearance under “More”.
- Interface language
- The app can be used in German or English, also under “More”.
